New Patients

What Should I Expect At My First Visit?

Your first visit to Christiana Eyecare LLC is a chance for us to get to know you, learn about your vision and eye health, and make sure you receive the care that is right for you.

We’ll review your medical and eye health history, discuss any concerns you may have, and perform a comprehensive eye examination to evaluate your vision and overall eye health.

After your examination, your doctor will review the findings with you and answer any questions you may have. If glasses or contact lenses are needed, we’ll discuss your options and help you find what works best for your vision, lifestyle, and needs.

Our goal is to make your first visit comfortable, informative, and personalized to you.

What Tests Are Included In My Eye Exam?

At Christiana Eyecare LLC, we use advanced technology as part of every comprehensive eye exam to help evaluate your vision and overall eye health.
Every patient receives a fundus photo, an autorefraction with a
topography image, and glaucoma screening.
These tests give your doctor valuable information about your eyes and help us monitor your eye health over time.
Additional testing, such as an OCT scan, may be recommended
if one of our doctor feels it is necessary based on your individual needs.

Will My Eyes Need To Be Dialated?

Dilation is only recommended when your doctor feels it is necessary to get a better view of the inside of your eyes and fully evaluate your eye health. Dilation is optional, and you may choose not to be dilated.
If you choose to decline dilation, your decision will be documented in your medical record.
Please understand that choosing not to be dilated may limit your doctor's ability to fully evaluate certain areas of the eye and may mean that some conditions or findings cannot be identified at that visit.
Your doctor will be happy to discuss any questions or concerns you have before making your decision.

Why Are Annual Eye Exams Important?

Regular eye exams are about more than just checking your vision. An annual eye exam allows your doctor to monitor changes in your vision and evaluate the overall health of your eyes.
Many eye conditions can develop without noticeable symptoms, so routine exams can help identify potential problems early.
Even if you feel like you are seeing well, an annual exam gives your doctor the opportunity to make sure your eyes are healthy and that your prescription is still providing you with the best vision possible.

What Are My Payment Options?

We offer several convenient ways to pay for your care. We accept cash, check, and major credit and debit cards.
Payment is due at the time of service.
If you have questions about payment or your expected balance, our friendly team is happy to help.

We do not participate with or bill any vision insurance plans. However, some vision insurance plans may offer out-of-network benefits, allowing you to submit a claim yourself for possible reimbursement.

If your plan offers out-of-network benefits, we can provide you with the necessary receipt or documentation to submit to your insurance company. We recommend contacting your vision insurance provider to confirm your specific benefits and reimbursement options.
